Health Ministry Reports Circulation Of Pyrrole Covid Strain In Belarus

What is characteristic for it?

Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Aliaksandr Tarasenka said about the circulation of pyrrole coronavirus strain in Belarus, BelTA informs.

He drew attention to the fact that there is some "stability in terms of coronavirus spread in the country since the end of April 2022". Tarasenka emphasised that now, as in the rest of the world, some increase in the incidence of the disease is noticeable, but the situation is controlled. The deputy health minister said that a variant of the pyrrole covid strain is circulating.

"The circulation of the pyrrole strain is currently of concern globally and there is some upsurge now".

According to him, the said strain is characterised by a decrease in the duration of the incubation period, specifying that from the time of infection to the time of illness is three days, whereas previously it was five days or more.

"The disease is not severe".
