A Russian woman has been shocked by Hrodna.
A Russian woman has been on a tour in Belarus. She described her impressions in a social network, and her post has already gained hundreds of reactions and many comments, writes katolik.life, which made excerpts from her story.
‘Came back from Hrodna. Walked thin-lipped,’ the Russian woman writes
‘The city is beautiful [...] but wrong. There are a lot of churches... I went to the main one, in the centre, listened to a sermon. It was Monday, and the cathedral was full. That is, the population is religious (as in Poland). According to statistics, 70% of Hrodna residents call themselves believers’.
The Russian was also outraged by the picture with Stefan Batory - the Polish king and Lithuanian grand duke, who died in Hrodna. The Russian woman did not like that ‘Russian ambassadors are crawling to him on their knees, asking for peace, the explanation - in English, for foreign tourists to see’.
‘I met with such people too. They answered in Belarusian (just to avoid Russian). They are cordial, friendly, but they answer only in Belarusian,’ she said.
