'There Were Many Drones': UAVs Bomb An Oil Refinery In Rostov Region

New details of the attack have emerged.

On the night of December 18-19, drones attacked an oil refinery in the city of Novoshakhtinsk in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Russian publication Astra.

"An oil refinery could have been attacked in the Rostov region. Astra subscribers reported explosions and illuminated skies over the oil refinery in Novoshakhtinsk," the report reads.

This information was later confirmed by the local Telegram channel "This is Rostov News."

"Bad news from Novoshakhtinsk. The Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the oil refinery. There were a lot of drones," the report reads.

At the same time, according to local residents, even when the oil refinery was already burning, air targets continued to be shot down in the city.

However, the acting governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slyusar, assured after midnight that there were no casualties or damage as a result of the drone attack.

“Air defence forces and assets are repelling a UAV attack in the Rostov region. Around midnight, 7 UAVs were destroyed, including 6 in Taganrog and one in Bataysk. According to preliminary information, " No casualties or damage on the ground,” Slyusar wrote.

But he later admitted that the drones hit the oil refinery.

“As a result of the UAV attack in Novoshakhtinsk, a fire broke out at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery,” Slyusar wrote.
