Western Diplomats Stand With Persecuted Believers In Belarus

On the eve of the Nativity of Christ.

Many Western diplomats expressed solidarity with representatives of the clergy and believers of Belarus who are persecuted because of their views.

A joint statement appeared on the Facebook page of the German Embassy in Minsk.

“Everyone deserves the right to express their opinion without fear. We demand freedom and justice for all,” it reads.

The document was also signed by the embassies of the US, the UK and many EU countries - the Netherlands, Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Sweden.
