Ivonka Survilla: Our People Can Revive Their Own Country
Ivonka Survilla

The Chairwoman of the BPR Rada conveyed her congratulations on Christmas and the New Year.

The website Charter97.org publishes the address of the Chairwoman of the BPR Rada Ivonka Survilla:

— My dear compatriots! On behalf of the BPR Rada and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on Christmas. I wish that these Holidays will be full of love and hope for quick changes for you.

I ask the newborn Son of God to free our land and our people from the criminals who have taken power in the country into their own hands.

Dear compatriots, do not abandon faith in the future! Only faith that the nightmare is not eternal, that the time will come when it will also end, will allow us to wait to see our free state, in which we too will be given the right to “be called people”! Our Vasil Bykau says it beautifully: without hope for light and warmth, for a home and family — no one has and will not have life in this predatory world.

And this hope has been helping me live for eighty years!

To those who were forced to leave their Homeland, I will say the following: remember who you are! No matter how difficult the Faye of an immigrant may be, remember the land of your ancestors. As long as you feel that you belong to it, no difficulties will defeat you! After all, you will know that on this land there is your “native corner” and, even in this inhuman time, when it is threatened by great danger, it is still only yours and will always be only yours! You will never be an orphan!

Of course, we need to look after it, protect it from the bandits who are just waiting for an opportunity to appropriate it. But I believe that our people will not allow this to happen. They are strongly attached to their land, they love it strongly. I firmly believe that our people are capable of reviving our own — friendly and prosperous — country in the center of Europe, which we will leave only when we want to see the rest of the world, but to which we will definitely return when we finish traveling!

So let's all pray together on this Christmas Eve for our Motherland, my dear Friends! Let's pray with faith that the “Lord of great suns and small hearts” will hear us!

I wish you a cozy Christmas!

Long live Belarus!
